Joe Deluca , owner of Deluca Windsors , practiced chair-making from his garage in the 1980’s. As he honed his woodworking skills, he obliged occasional customers with sets of chairs. To receive authentic reproductions of lovely Windsor furniture not only pleased his customers, but also supplied Joe with additional income–all for doing something he truly enjoyed!
Joe learned how to produce many types of furniture, including Windsor chairs, at a local cabinet shop from two of the best furniture makers in the business.Because the shop focused much of its business on repairing and restoring original antique furniture, Joe was exposed to some of the best surviving specimens of 18th and 19th century furniture.
So, why Windsor chairs instead of some other period of furniture? The market was ripe for Windsors as no one else was offering high-quality reproductions true to the original process and product. Joe had the opportunity to actually see and handle original Windsor chairs. He took great care to precisely measure each piece so as to 
reproduce it later. In fact, most every chair that is now offered as a reproduction through Deluca Windsors was, at one point, in Joe’s hands where he carefully noted each detail. Soon the word was out about the guy who built great furniture from his garage, and Joe was able to start his own business as a woodworker in 1991.
Since then, the objective of Deluca Windsors has been to provide the highest quality reproduction pieces as close to the originals as possible. Joe can be heard saying, “It doesn¹t make any sense to reproduce things that are ugly or uncomfortable … It’s just as easy to make a great chair as it is to make an awful one!”

Joe Deluca - Owner/Woodworker
Joe received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in biology from the University of Delaware. He worked as a model maker at an engineering firm before becoming a woodworker, which helped him perfect his skills with the tools and machinery used in woodworking.
